How to Make Authentic Vietnamese Pho Soup
Introduction to Pho Soup
Pho (pronounced ‘fuh’) is a traditional Vietnamese soup consisting of broth, rice noodles, herbs, and meat—usually beef (pho bò) or chicken (pho gà). It is a dish that warms the soul and is enjoyed as a staple in Vietnam, often served for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The secret to a good Pho lies in the broth, which is slow-cooked to develop deep, aromatic flavors.
